Fire up your Motivation with these Three Tips

Don’t let the chill in weather put a freeze on your good work habits. Read on to find out 3 simple ways to keep yourself on the road to success this (and every) season.
Know where you’re going – Always ask for clear explanations of tasks. Once you understand exactly what your supervisor wants from you, you can derive the best route to achieving your goals. Nothing shoots motivation in the foot more than mismanaged ambition. Spending time and diligent effort to develop something incorrectly at work is not only frustrating, but ultimately a waste of everyone’s time.
Set limits – Make sure you know the difference between the tasks you’re responsible for, and those that people try to dump on you that are, in reality, their job to take care of. Although most companies thrive on teamwork, the “ball” should be being passed around to everyone! You should not be carrying it all, or even most the time. If this is the case do something about it, or you will quickly find yourself burned out.
That said, push your limits – Don’t get so stuck in your daily routine that you fail to explore and develop new skills and interests. Not only will this lead to boredom, but it will ultimately make you less valuable as a worker. Take time to discover what you want to do with your career down the road, and how your job is playing into the big picture. Taking time to evaluate your career may not be on your weekly task list, but it is critical to your development both as a worker and a person.
