Microsoft Windows 7 Gadgets
One of new fun and user friendly additions to Microsoft Windows 7 is the Gadget Features. As Microsoft puts it – “Gadgets put information and fun—like news, pictures, games, and the phases of the moon—right on your desktop.”
To check out all the Gadgets available to download click here.
With quite literally hundreds of gadgets to download for free, you are bound to find some that are both useful and fun to add to your computers desktop. Here are a few that I run:
CPU Meter – This comes in handy to monitor in real time your computers CPU and Memory (RAM) utilization. Especially when you first log in, reboot your motion or open up a new application – It is useful to see when you processor and or RAM is pegged out like the tachometer of you car.
Network Meter – This gadget come in very handy to keep an eye on your network speeds in real time. This gadget shows you your current and total upload and download speeds on your network measured in KB and MB.
Weather – Especially in the winter time when you need info on storm systems and snow showers headed your way – This gadget displays the current temperature and cloud cover, but also directs you to MSN weather homepage by double clicking it right from your desktop.
Piano – This one is just for fun. You can use your keyboard to control the piano keys on the screen. The only drawback is that you can only play one note at a time, so you will have to play your favorite Frédéric Chopin number down at the saloon.
