We humans are the weak link in security.  This is just a basic fact, stemming from the complexity of our desires and behavior.  People, most notably employees and owners, have legitimate access to proprietary data.  It stands to reason, then, to have policies and procedures in place that allow a company to ensure the integrity of their data.  Just as in a free society, rules still govern the limits of one's freedom.  Similarly, access control rules limit people's access to proprietary data.  Unfortunately, many of the simplest and easiest of these controls go overlooked.
